Lose the app purchase when you change phones

I purchased this app on my old phone and loved the functionality of it. I have a health condition so it really provided the opportunity for me to get a handle on it. Once I changed phones, and tried to upload the app it would only download the free version. I wrote tech support for the app and never received a response. Very disappointed.
